Happy Independance Day!
I hope the next 232 years are even better than the first 232!b
Michelle Malkin asked:
Where are the separation-of-church-and-state activists now?
In reference to the story on a school in Minnesota that appears to be a publicly funded school that preaches religion (Islam).
I personally think if it is true, then it should not take place. On the other hand, I don’t mind reasonable accommodations: for example, if 40% of [...]
I guess it’s only a holocaust if it affects our allies! Or something like that…
Update: Commenters remind me that Italy and Poland are already protected by NATO. Fair enough; change my example to Sweden and Finland then. Yes, it’s absurd to think of them becoming a target of Iran, but the basic point remains: If [...]
Says Israeli Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer!
Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer on Saturday said that if Israel was interested in achieving peace, it had no choice but to free jailed Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti.
“Current negotiations [between Israel and the Palestinian Authority] are only virtual negotiations,” Ben-Eliezer said, adding “only the release of Barghouti could change things around.”
Asked about [...]
I love Mary Katharine Ham’s idea on keeping something classy.
Keep It Classy, Washington
Cringe-inducing, but it has to be pointed out. President Bush booed while tossing the first pitch at the new Nationals Stadium. Pretty trashy on the fans’ part, here, although there are cheers mixed in, too…
So note to National fans: if you are not [...]
I found this post on Little Green Footballs interesting:
The Protocols of the Daily Kos
Jew-hatred bubbles and ferments just beneath the surface at Daily Kos, erupting from time to time in gaseous diary posts like this one: Daily Kos: What’s Wrong With Being Anti Israel?
There seems to be such a taboo in the media about anyone [...]
It’s always funny to see the right trying to make a empty point. Hot Air discusses the kidnapping and killing of an Iraqi Bishop:
Chaldean bishop Paulos Faraj Rahho died while being held by kidnappers, both the Vatican and Iraq have announced. Rahho’s abductors buried the body and notified the Iraqi authorities of his death, although [...]
That is a funny quote. Israel has decided to build more homes in a settlement. They had stopped building in that settlement because of lack of need. Why?
Speaking to Israel Radio, Boim said the Givat Zeev construction initially began some eight years ago, but was suspended because of fighting with the Palestinians.
“When violence subsided, demand [...]
You’ve got to love the “black and white/you’re either with us or against us/no shades of gray” vision of right wingers.
From a recent HotAir post on Bush vetoing a bill that attempts to prevent torture:
Secondly — and this can’t be said strongly enough — it is wildly inappropriate to publish the limits of interrogatory technique [...]
Michelle Malkin posted a few pictures on her website. All of them show some US official bridging some cultural gap. When you travel around the world, does it always have to be jeans, snickers, Starbucks and McDonald’s? I hope not.
Anyways, you can see the pictures here. But here is the most interesting part. Michelle asks [...]
