Why only them?

Hotair had a post today about 1215 troops re-enlisting today.
Why only them? Why do these 1215 troops bear more of the burden of defending the country than most other citizens? Why will some of their families suffer more than the rest of us?
You know, this is just like the universal health care debate, transposed. We [...]

Maybe even stop to have a little ‘Chelow Kabab’…

John Cole talks about the upcoming invasion of Iran.
While everyone is distracted with other things, the administration is dusting off the Office of Special Plans and gearing up for war with Iran:

I think I speak for everyone when I say I am really looking forward to this next phase in the permanent war in the [...]

I’m not sure Obama really distorts McCain with those 100 years…

HotAir has a clip on Obama and saying that Obama is distorting what the American McCain said about staying in Iraq for 100 years. I think if you listen to Obama, it’s not as clear to me as it was that he is distorting what McCain said.
Shocking. Not that he’d distort it; that’s politics. What’s [...]

Mary Katharine Ham thinks this is an excellent point?

In a post titled Wear Your Whiteness on Your Sleeve, Mary Katharine Ham says that Hot Air makes this ‘excellent point’:
Update: Another excellent point:
To come full circle with the quote from his speech that I found so irritating on Tuesday, if Obama sincerely believes the great national conversation on race can’t wait a moment longer, [...]

Jason Mattera wants the GOP to use fear to capture the youth! Boo!

Hotair posted a funny yet sad episode of Vent delivered by Jason Mattera of the Young America’s Foundation and titled “How the GOP can capture the Youth Vote”.
It’s funny because if you listen to it, you will wonder what other unsubstantiated reason or claim Jason Mattera will come up with next. Some highlights:
Why conservatives are lagging with younger voters:

Millions of [...]

Homeless veterans…

I have to write a short post about this. From Crooksandliars:
BillO still claims that there are few, if any homeless veterans in America and insists that they aren’t living under bridges — Keith reads a news story from late last year about a homeless vet in Iowa who was found dead from hypothermia — he [...]

You can’t handle the truth!

Hotair is complaining about what they claim is the promotion by Hollywood of Cindy Sheehan’s view of the war:
Starring Ryan Phillipe, Stop-Losstells the story of a soldier who is retained in the military on his last day of service and told he’s being shipped back to Iraq. But watch the trailer. Not content just to [...]

Who cares if Huckabee changed his position on Cuba?

Hotair has yet another (negative!) post on Huckabee. Mike, interviewed by Kirsten Powers, acknowledges that his switched his position on Cuba because of his presidential aspirations. You can see the clip on Hotair.
Basically, it was in the best interest of Arkansas to sell rice to Cuba (so Huckabee was pushing for that when he was governor). [...]

Geraldo is 99% right…

A big part of the election will be played between the people that only seem to get excited when illegal immigrants get caught in the middle of crimes and those that think the USA is a country where hard work is the #1 thing we care about (and your immigration status second).
The vocal right (between [...]

First Bush has to go, then the Bush enablers…

Hotair has a post on the possibility that Nanci Pelosi knew about the ongoing torture issues… Let’s start with the ending of the Hotair post:
If you think the Democrats are dishonest and unreliable on matters of war and peace (and a whole lot else), then they are exactly who you think they are.
No wait there. [...]
