Little (intellectual honesty) Green Footballs
I found this post on Little Green Footballs interesting:
The Protocols of the Daily Kos
Jew-hatred bubbles and ferments just beneath the surface at Daily Kos, erupting from time to time in gaseous diary posts like this one: Daily Kos: What’s Wrong With Being Anti Israel?
There seems to be such a taboo in the media about anyone or any story that is critical of Israel. Witness the recent attacks on the Obama campaign via activities by his ex-pastor that was considered “Anti-Israel”. Remember the vicious treatment that Jimmy Carter got for mentioning the words “Apartheid” and Israel in his book title? Candidate after candidate has to pay lip service and claim his blind allegiance to that state… and why? why is it the “kiss of death” to be critical of Israel.
Go read the original article and the lgf commentary. Lgf cut out this part:
So why, knowing all that, it is still a major faux pas for anyone to question our relation with Israel. And please don’t give me the “You’re an anti-semite” line… Being critical of Israel does not make one an anti-semite or a self hating Jew. Why is it that at a time when the US is heavily involved in a huge mess in the middle east, that our politicians, thinkers, activists, do not dare discussing the issue that is at the heart of the conflict?
To replace it by:
[...blah, blah ... criticism of Israel is not antisemitism ... blah, blah ... Jimmy Carter rocks ... blah, blah...]
I love the intellectual honesty lgf shows. I am sure there must be real anti-Semites and Jew-haters on DailyKos. But please, use a better post than that. It really devalues the true meaning of those words.

“Obama’s ex-pastor”, after 20 years of Antisemitic and anti-US hate speech, Obama has been forced to distance jimself publicly from this pastor. Didn’t that happen about 15 minutes ago? After all of Obama’s excuses he finally was forced, against his desires to rebuke his pastor.
The voter that are enamourde with Obama, are just lemmings being led to the river.
P.S. McCain also has his albatross, called Pastor John Hagee. If McCain will not distance himself from this blatant Antisemite, he will never be elected!

I think the topic of antisemetism and Israel get so mixed up that it’s hard to make any sense out of it sometimes.
FWIW, I don’t think Obama is an antisemite. His pastor? I could be convinced.
Am I a lemming being led to the river? Maybe, but I rather see Obama leading me than McCain.
