Real Americans versus naturalized Americans…

Are you a real American or a naturalized (a.k.a fake) American? A post at HotAir seems to imply that some Americans are more real than others. The title reads:
Times: John McCain not a real American?
The Times never asked that. The Times had an article on the meaning of ‘natural born’. Does it include people like [...]

The Mary Katharine Ham free speech paradox…

O’Reilly and Mary Katherine Ham were at it yesterday trying to show how left wing blogs have comment sections full of hate. We know O’Reilly is for government censorship in this area, but MKH isn’t. She writes on her blog:
As always, I’m on the free-speech side of this issue.
So for me, free-speech means no government [...]

HotAir says that solidarity with America is solidarity with Al Qaeda!

How else can the following post be interpreted?
Well, then try on this one from the headlines–the new Hollywood chic is orange ribbons symbolizing solidarity with Al Qaeda. Or at least those members of Al Qaeda who were dumb enough to find themselves detained in Gitmo. (More here). Surprised? No? Dang.
Terrific spin, but sorry, it’s not [...]

Does this stuff actually work with Conservatives?

Yes, before I start (and especially before Sav catches me closing my eyes on the Hillary camp), Hillary’s side have also tried to play the ‘Hussein’ card but it seems to me so far Democrats have been resisting that assault.
But besides a few slips by Hillary’s side, the bulk of the Hussein comments always come [...]

The weird sound of freedom ringing…

Seriously, when freedom rings at Hannity.com, the ringing sound must pass many tests. If the ringing sound annoys any of Sean’s friends, then the sound is banned.
So we knew that Rush was off limits now that he joined WABC. But here is a funny one:
Can Mayor Bloomberg be attacked?
You would think the answer is a [...]

I am not sure it’s smart for the Republicans to have a real debate on serious proposals…

Hotair is saying that it would be smarter to attack Obama’s ideas instead of showing how empty he is:
Read Stephen Hayes’s op-edthis morning in the Journal about the GOP preparing to repeat her mistakes. The experience contrast will serve McCain better than Her Majesty, but hammering the guy for being a lightweight with a knack [...]

Too bad Michelle did not answer her own question…

Michelle Malkin posted a few pictures on her website. All of them show some US official bridging some cultural gap. When you travel around the world, does it always have to be jeans, snickers, Starbucks and McDonald’s? I hope not.
Anyways, you can see the pictures here. But here is the most interesting part. Michelle asks [...]

It took me a few seconds to understand why Michelle had this post on the front page…

I hadn’t checked Michelle Malkin’s website for a few day and I went a few minutes ago. I saw this article:

The Cottonwood schoolchildren’s memorial fund
By Michelle Malkin  •  February 22, 2008 08:30 PM
These are the four schoolchildren killed in the Cottonwood, MN bus accident this week.

I was pretty sad. Why did these kids die? Why did Michelle [...]

Did Hillary have to do that?

Clearly I am talking about the Xerox comment… I have to say I was very dissapointed. Saying that kind of stuff (Change you can Xerox) will only become the next Republican talking point (spoken by Hillary).
Somehow I don’t think you want to generate that much joy in right wing circles:
She may not be a good campaigner, [...]

Interesting article by Zakaria…

Fareed Zakaria has an interesting article on the ‘End of Conservatism’. Worth reading IMHO.
Most crucially, Americans’ views of the state are shifting. They don’t want bigger government—a poll last year found that a majority (57 percent) still believe that government makes it harder for people to get ahead in life—but they do want a smarter [...]
