Three ways of saying the same thing…

Hotair did a post recently about the ideas Barack Obama has for social security. Obama wants to raise taxes to ensure the fund stays afloat. Here is what Hotair says he didn’t talk about:

Obama’s solution isn’t to cut benefits on future retirees or partial privatization or raise the retirement age.

So we all know what cutting benefits means. It means cutting benefits.

But how about partial privatization? That is also another way of indirectly cutting benefits! What is the point of partial privatization? It is to give less liability to the government and to shift it on to you. It’s also about cutting benefits (if you really want to save money today, you don’t need the government’s authorization to do so).

And finally… drum rolls… Raising the retirement age. Again, it’s also another way of cutting benefits!

So essentially the three ideas Hotair suggested all revolve around cutting benefits. And of course they complain that Obama isn’t for cutting benefits. What could Obama had said that would have kept them happy? If Obama is fundamentaly against cutting benefits, there is NOTHING he could have proposed that would have made them happy.

Well, maybe he could have proposed to fund the taxes by stopping the war in Iraq and redirecting those wasted funds!!!! Oh wait…

  • Hmm, your link took me to a piece on Romney
NOT giving a speech on his religion. That said,
Obama, or any other democrat (and most GOP
candidates) will not meet the expectations of the crowd whose world is defined and confined by RW
blogs, FoxNews, Glenn Beck and Michelle Whatever.

  • BB-Idaho,

There appears to be an opening in my QA department :). Thanks for catching that mistake, I have fixed it.
