Wasting our money in Iraq is ok, but SCHIP…

From CNN, in reference to the SCHIP veto (and the attempts to get a veto override):

Leavitt said the Democratic-controlled Congress, not the Republican administration, would pay the political price if the State Children’s Health Insurance Program stalls due to gridlock.

I love it how on one hand we waste so much money on Iraq, but on the other the slightest idea of spending money on our children, including the children from the disappearing middle class, is seen as a terrible thing. I hope that in November 2008, the country will remember where the parties wanted the money to be spent: republicans in Iraq, democrats in SCHIP.
